Google rolled out another update of the penguin series named as Penguin 3.0 update on Oct 17, 2014. The roll out comes as a surprise to the webmasters and SEO services professional. Though it was much anticipated, Google only announced about the roll out 24 hours in prior. The penguin update primarily checks the site back link profile and on its basis merits or demerits the site in Google search results. Often after the roll out, many webmasters complain of traffic nosediving due to the penguin algorithm.
So what is it inside the Penguin 3.0 update ?
1. Penguin 3.0 is a Worldwide update-Penguin 3.0 is a worldwide update. It means that it will affect all the search queries irrespective of the country or language.
2. The roll out started on Friday 17th of October and It will impact approx 1% of the English search queries and might affect other language search queries more.
3. As confirmed by Google’s John Mueller the latest penguin roll out or the ‘refresh’ is still going on and may take another few weeks to complete.
4. A general assumption of internet marketing experts is that it will demote website that have a bad or toxic link profile and it positively impact the website which were previously penalized but cleaned up their link profile later.

Penguin 2.1 on Oct. 4, 2013 (impacting around 1% of queries)
Penguin 3.0 on October 17, 2014 (impacting around 1% of queries)
