Backlinks are the hyperlinks on your websites. Backlinks are an important part of SEO. A website is considered to be relevant if it has inbound links and the backlinks that redirect to that website come from the reliable sources. Good backlinks are the major reason for a website to rank and Bad backlinks are the reason for a website to fall and get penalties. Backlinks also add to the reliability. People are more likely to trust your website if it has backlinks attached to it.
There are two types of backlinks. Do follow backlinks and No follow backlinks. When a website links to another website naturally without putting the no-follow tag, it a do-follow backlink. These backlinks contain the no-follow tag and are not considered useful enough.
Why Are Backlinks Important for SEO?
The quality of your content depends on the quality of the backlinks on your website. When inbound links to your site have content related to your site, these links are considered more relevant to your site. On the other hand, if inbound links are found on sites with unrelated content, they are considered less relevant.
Another reason to achieve quality backlinks is to tempt visitors to come to your website. It does not happen that you build a website, and then expect people to find your website without pointing the way. Backlinks somehow help you by directing visitors to your website. Thus, it ranks your website higher over other pages on the search engine resulting in higher traffic.
Fast indexing is another benefit of backlinks. It is said that the website with a high number of backlinks gets discovered faster by the search engine bots. Therefore, your pages get indexed more quickly in Google compared to others.
