Twitter has announced a couple of new features. These features are designed to make content easier to find for Twitter users. The main aim of the company behind this upgradation is to transform how people discover information such as breaking news, live events, and other topics.

In an effort to make the site better, Twitter has decided to enhance the timeline, notifications, the ‘Explore’ section, and the ‘Moments’ section.

Updates

Explore Section: Twitter is planning to roll out the term ‘topic’ in this section instead of content type. Topic tab is expected to come in the coming months.

Search results: Twitter has added the news stories, and events to the top of search results. This update is available now.

‘Happening now’: This section will talk about sports, breaking and personalized news. This update is also coming in few months.

Notifications: In this section, Twitter will send notifications related to personal interests along with the breaking news notifications. The notifications will be based on the accounts a user follows and what he tweets about. This is going to be available in the coming weeks.

New Navigation: Twitter is now introducing a new vertical timeline for Moments rather than swiping horizontally to access the same.

Tweets: Alongside, it is bringing a recap of missed tweets, a timeline of latest tweets, and a timeline of top commentary.

World Cup Page: Twitter is also coming up with a new page dedicated to the World Cup, and for other games.
